Farmers market season returns with the start of Greenville’s TD Saturday Market May 4.
The market will be held 8 a.m. until noon every Saturday along Main Street. Seventy-nine farmers, crafters and processors including six new vendors will be featured at the market to sell various produce and goods.
“The market strives to offer a fun, interactive shopping experience each week,” said Taylor Talbot, the city of Greenville’s sales and marketing manager.
Live music, culinary demonstrations and children’s activities will be available at the market’s Front Porch area at McBee Avenue. A booth to support local nonprofits and a youth booth showcasing young entrepreneurs’ work will also be set up in the area.
The market’s presenting sponsor, Prisma Health, will offer free yoga classes at 8 a.m. on select Saturdays. The classes will be taught by Prisma Health-certified trainers, said Todd Walker, chief executive officer of Prisma Health Greer Memorial Hospital and Patewood Hospital.
Attendees can enjoy ready-to-eat food selections from Colonial Milling, Limoncello and Papi’s Tacos at the market’s bistro area on East Main Street. Mimosas will also be available on the first Saturday of each month.
TD Bank, the market’s longtime sponsor, will also continue its TD Tokens program during this year’s market season. Through the program, people who use their EBT card at the market for a minimum of $5 will receive $25 of free tokens to spend at the market. Bruce Benson, retail market manager for TD Bank, said the program helps make sure people have access to healthy and fresh food.
The market will run from May until Oct. 26. Several special events will be held throughout the season including the Penske Touch-a-Truck on Sept. 14 and Autumn Harvest on Oct. 26. A holiday market will also be held in December with a selection of seasonal produce and gifts.
Free parking will be available from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the lot next to Grill Marks, courtesy of Soby’s. For more information on the 2024 market season, visit saturdaymarketlive.com.
