GJ: How were you contacted to create this piece?
EMO: I was contacted through the Auro Hotels art consultation team.
GJ: What is the inspiration for this piece?
EMO: The mural was a literal interpretation of the juniper plant and its herbaceous presence in gin.
GJ: What materials did you use to create this piece?
EMO: I used latex and acrylic paints.
GJ: How long did it take to create and what was the creation process like?
EMO: The design process was completed in stages throughout 2020. Sunny Mullarkey, Sharron Koch at Auro Hotels and I met and discussed inspiration and brainstormed design and content. The images were collaboratively created through sketches and digital drawings before being painted on-site. The physical paintings were completed over the course of three weeks.
GJ: What is your favorite part of the piece and why?
EMO: My favorite part of this piece is the colors. They are a great balance between calming, cool colors and energetic bold hues.

EMO: Mid-December 2020
It is located at the AC Hotel by Marriott Greenville at 315 S. Main St. in Greenville.
