Sen. Darline Graham and Rep. Ralph Norman (R-District 5) advanced to a runoff election for the special Republican U.S. Senate primary on Aug. 25.
The winner will replace Sen. Lindsey Graham on the Nov. 3 ballot. Graham, a four-term senator, died July 11. He had previously secured the Republican nomination for a fifth term in the June primary.
Darline Graham was appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to fulfill her brother’s unexpired term. Norman has held his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives since June 20, 2017, when he won a special election to fill former Rep. Mick Mulvaney’s term.

Voters who participated in the June Republican primary, or who did not vote in either party’s June primary, are eligible to cast a ballot in the runoff. Those who voted in the June Democratic primary are not eligible to vote in this election.
