Art and Light Gallery to host ‘Time Capsule’ exhibition

“Time Capsule” will open Sept. 29 at Art & Light Gallery in Greenville.

The exhibition, which features works by artists Erin Hughes of Anderson and Liz Rundorff Smith of Greenville, will be on display virtually on the gallery’s website and in person at 16 Aiken St. in Greenville through Oct. 31.

For “Time Capsule,” Hughes’s encaustic and oil paintings explores “the limited ability to retain fleeting visual experiences in the natural world,” while Rundorff Smith’s works confront the loss that “accompanies physical deterioration and the uncomfortable reality of existing in an aging body,” said a news release from the gallery.

Art & Light Gallery will host an opening reception Oct. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. to celebrate the new collection. For more information, visit artandlightgallery.com.
