The Clemson board of trustees on Thursday, July 15 elected Kim Wilkerson as their first female chair in the University’s 132-year history.
Wilkerson (Clemson, ’80), is the South Carolina president and managing director for Bank of America and has served on the Clemson board of trustees since 2010. She will serve a two-year term as chair. She succeeds Smyth McKissick, according to the university’s announcement.
“It’s an honor to serve this incredible institution and I am humbled by the opportunity,” Wilkerson said. “I want to thank the board for their confidence in me and I pledge to work with each of you in guiding Clemson to even greater heights.”
