Mission Statement
Greenville Together is a community-led initiative to functionally end homelessness in Greenville. Grounded in collaboration, data-driven decision-making and housing-first solutions, the initiative is focused on preventing homelessness whenever possible and ensuring that when it does occur, it is rare, brief and nonrecurring.
Impact
Greenville Together uses two complementary strategies to move people from crisis into stable housing: Shelter-to-Home and Street-to-Home. While each approach serves a different population, both are grounded in the same principles: urgency, coordination and dignity.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, last year Greenville Together:
- Provided safe, stable housing for 154 people in 90 households.
- Deployed 45 Housing Choice Vouchers, enabling 26 sheltered households (65 individuals) to transition into permanent, affordable housing.
- On average, $2,152.60 of short-term financial assistance was provided per household.
- Collaborated with 24 landlords and housing providers, making 127 housing units available for individuals and families exiting homelessness.
