The city of Mauldin is asking residents to participate in a pair of public-input meetings regarding stormwater-drainage issues.
Held at Mauldin City Hall, the meetings, from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 5 and from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 19, will allow representatives from KCI Technologies Inc., a firm contracted to perform a citywide stormwater-modeling project, to gather input from residents about stormwater-drainage problems and specific locations in Mauldin that are prone to flooding. Residents will also learn where they can send photos or videos of flooding within the city.
Both in-person meetings will be broadcast live on Zoom and meeting recordings will be posted on the city’s YouTube channel.
“Stormwater drainage is a major concern for our residents, and it’s an issue that Mauldin City Council is working to address,” said City Administrator Seth Duncan. “These public meetings are a key step in the process of creating a stormwater master plan that will identify flood-prone areas within the city and allow us to apply for federal grants for stormwater-mitigation efforts.”
Residents who cannot attend in-person may submit feedback through an online form at bit.ly/mauldinstormwater.
