Here’s a recap of the March 9 meeting of the Fountain Inn City Council.
Initial approval: Franchise agreement with WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone
Council approved a measure that would allow WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone to provide cable service to city residents.
As part of the franchise agreement, the city will receive 5% of WOW!’s gross revenues based on its customers inside of city limits.
This item will go before city council for final approval on April 13.
Denied: Rezoning for 15-unit multifamily development on Putman Street
Council rejected a rezoning request for 1.15 on Putman Street near South Main Street.
The applicant, Luis Tabares, planned to construct a 15-unit multifamily housing development on the property.
Tabled: Rezoning for commercial development on Nash Street
Council tabled a rezoning request for 2.69 acres at 108 and 110 Nash Street.
The applicant, Tellus LLC, plans to use the site for possible commercial development but has not submitted specific site plans.
Council requested the applicant provide more information on what type of commercial development it may want to pursue on the property.
Initial approval: Five to six single-family home development on Hunter Road
Council approved an annexation and rezoning request for 6.78 acres on Hunter Road.
The applicant, Johnny Tong plans to develop five to six single-family homes on the property.
