Greenville residents will get a chance to learn details about the Church Street bridge rehabilitation project during an informational drop-in scheduled for April 16 by the South Carolina Department of Transportation.
The meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 406 N. Academy St., where SCDOT members will discuss project details.
The Church Street/U.S. Highway 29 bridge over East Broad Street is part of one of the major traffic arteries leading into downtown.
The bridge rehabilitation will include the replacement of damaged concrete, sidewalk replacement, bridge deck rehabilitation and a concrete overlay to improve the condition of the driving surface, according to SCDOT.
The agency also said lighting on the bridge is outdated and nonfunctional and requires replacement.
