The Artistry will present its annual tiny float exhibition beginning Feb. 7 in Greenville.
The exhibition will be displayed at 12 Andrews St. through Feb. 27 and judged by voters who attend the gallery’s Big Easy Costume Ball Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.

Photo provided by The Artistry“We typically have 14 to 25 (floats),” said Amy Coleman, gallery manager at The Artistry. “They are displayed on shelves in the gallery, they do not necessarily roll and we don’t do a parade. Floats are made from shoe boxes and are all roughly that size. The base is mostly cardboard but sometimes they are bigger. We don’t have a theme, so decorations are a free-for-all. Last year, we had several Barbie floats and this year we’re hoping for a ‘Wicked’-themed float. Regular floats are often political and reference current events and popular culture.”
An opening reception will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 7 at the gallery to celebrate the collection. The event will also feature live music by Raging David Donar.
