Greenville will soon see a new art exhibit that takes a look at the wider world through a variety of artistic mediums.
“It’s all around us” will open Feb. 3 at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts at 101 Abney St.
The exhibition will run through March 29 and will feature photography by Heather Brand, sculptures by Dawn Stetzel and paintings by Alan Shuptrine.

Brand focuses her work on depicting scenes of humans’ mediated relationship with nature through deceptions of built environments “concerning the collection, cultivation and recreation of the natural world,” said the gallery in a press release.
Joining Brand in the exhibition is Stetzel, who creates sculptures that interact with environments in the margins, where humans and nature rub together leaving a “sometimes messy residue,” said the press release.
Rounding out the three featured artists is Shuptrine, who uses watercolors, oils, gold leafing and handmade frames for his works.

GCCA will also host an opening reception to celebrate the exhibit on Feb. 3 from 6-9 p.m.
