“Get Home Safely” will open Jan. 7 at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts (GCCA) at 101 Abney St. in Greenville.
The exhibition, which runs through Feb. 23, will feature works by artist Malik Greene and serves as an autobiographical journey through his origin story.
“’Get Home Safely’ is in reference to the story of the prodigal son and demonstrates that no matter how far one may go they will always have a place to return home,” said Greene. “These pieces seek to uncover a world within my mind, a place fortified by my eyes and ambitions, not swayed or collided with a world I am not the creator of. My desire is to convey my truth as well as uncover the truth and beauty placed within those that I hold close to my heart.”
GCCA will also host an opening reception on Feb. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m.
