Jil Littlejohn Bostick, a former Greenville City Councilmember and vice president of corporate responsibility and inclusion at Winnebago Industries, has released her new book, “The Power and Purpose Within: 365 Daily Affirmations for Intentional Living and Leadership.”
Bostick found inspiration for the book after losing her mother, Jimetta Finnie Littlejohn, in 2022.

“The Power and Purpose Within” is designed as a 365-day affirmation journey and invites readers to ground themselves in clarity, purpose and authentic leadership.
“This book was really born out of grief, healing, determination and focus,” said Bostick. “My mother passed away (four) years ago, so learning how to live without her was important to me. I started journaling and learning how to deal with life.”
Bostick wrote her book in bite-sized themes so anyone can pick it up and read a little each day.
“Each month has a theme, (so) one month can be about courage or resiliency. It’s built January through December, but you can skip around based on what you need for that day,” said Bostick. “I want readers to take away the thought that even in the midst of life, you still have power within you and that you can overcome your hardest days and your best days are ahead of you.”

In connection with the book’s release, Bostick announced the completion of a $25,000 endowed scholarship for nursing students at Greenville Technical College. The scholarship was created in honor of her mother, who worked as a nurse for over 50 years.
