Where families heal and find peace

Derik had been in and out of detox for the past 10 years. He was using morphine intravenously every day. Derik knew the detox routine inside and out but when he was admitted for the last time in February 2018, he saw something on the daily schedule that stumped him — Introduction to Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT). Derik showed up for the activity wondering what MAT was all about and felt hope for the first time in 10 years.

When Derik completed detox he started MAT immediately.  With medication, group-counseling and community support groups, Derik started to get his life back on track. He quickly found that he could think more clearly and make better decisions. Derik has made new friends and feels supported in his recovery but he is most excited about having his wife walk alongside him in recovery. They are thankful for the richness of their lives, not just surviving, but thriving.

Now 2 years later, Derik has found peace and he supports others in recovery. He is not only giving back what was freely given to him, he is giving back what he fought hard for — HOPE.
