Sen. Darline Graham has won a runoff election for the special Republican U.S. Senate primary.
She will replace her brother, Sen. Lindsey Graham, on the Nov. 3 ballot. Graham, a four-term senator, died July 11. He had previously secured the Republican nomination for a fifth term in the June primary.
Darline Graham had 193,396 votes (52.45%) to Rep. Ralph Norman (R-District 5)‘s 175,327 votes (47.55%).
Gov. Henry McMaster appointed her in July to fulfill her brother’s unexpired term. Norman has held his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives since June 20, 2017, when he won a special election to fill former Rep. Mick Mulvaney’s term.
