United Way’s Hands On Greenville Day, the Upstate’s largest day of service, returns May 6. Thousands of volunteers are planning to work on a variety of projects around the community.
From 8 a.m. to noon, volunteer teams will report to sites across Greenville County to complete a wide range of projects, including:
- Cleaning up at county parks
- Working on landscaping at nonprofits and schools
- Helping at community gardens
- Building homes
Starting at 11 a.m., the United Way will host an after party celebration at Fluor Field, where all volunteers may come together to celebrate the day’s accomplishments.

Each year, HOG Day is estimated to:
- Provide 8,100 hours of community service, with an economic impact of more than $250,000 in a single day.
- Complete projects for local nonprofits to save budget dollars, reserving more money for programmatic impact.
