Furman University and the American History Book Club Forum will host historian and New York Times best-selling author H.W. Brands on Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at The Poinsett Club at 807 E. Washington St. in Greenville.
The event will include a book signing at 5:30 p.m. and a presentation by Brands on the topic, “Heirs of the Founders: How (Henry) Clay, (John C.) Calhoun and (Daniel) Webster showed us the way to compromise.” A question-and-answer period will follow.
