Mauldin City Council approved on first reading a rezoning request for a mixed-use pedestrian-oriented development project at 513 N. Main St. at its Nov. 15 meeting.
The applicant, Greyshell Group, is planning to build a 35- to 36-unit townhome community oriented around a central green in the back portion of the 5.6-acre property.
In the front portion along North Main Street, the Greyshell Group plans to build a two-story commercial building with parking in the rear.
The developer plans to feature multiple dining options in this building, including:
- A family-oriented restaurant focused on serving breakfast and lunch
- An eatery focused on dinner offerings
- Outdoor patio dining and/or rooftop dining
Rejected on final reading:
Annexing a 10-acre property at 220 Fowler Circle.
Prior to the meeting, the property owners, Gail C. Frost and Sarah S. Coates asked to table the annexation (council opted to reject instead of table) of 220 Fowler Circle because they were trying to work some things out before proceeding, said council person Diane Kuzinar.
The developer, Zenith Real Estate, had planned to develop 58 new townhomes.
Approved:
A request from the Public Works Department to purchase a day-cab truck and 75-yard dump trailer for about $160,000.
The truck will be used to collect yard trimmings.
Approved on final reading:
Rezoning of 2.3 acres at Ashmore Bridge and Fork Shoals roads.
The developer, Bluewater Civil Design LLC, plans to use this property for an amenities center for the Arden Woods Subdivision, said Kuzinar.
Honored:
Mauldin’s Recreation Department was named the state’s Recreation Department of the Year Award.
The department’s director Bart Cumalander and assistant director Willie Stewart will receive the award next month and present it to the city council at the Dec. 20 meeting, said City Administrator Brandon Madden.
