Here’s a recap of the Oct. 24 meeting of Greer City Council.
Approved: Demolition of condemned properties
Council approved a contract with Bed-Rock Construction to complete demolition and cleanup work on five condemned residential properties, including:
- 402 Connecticut Ave. – $19,500
- 22 10th St. – $18,500
- 111 Spruce Ave. – $4,000
- 103 Delano Ave. – $1,800
- 125 McDaniel Ave. – $18,000; includes boarding of structure
The project is expected to cost over $61,000. Since these properties are privately owned, the city will put a lien on each parcel to attempt to recoup the demolition and cleanup expenses.
Final approval: Land annexation for apartment complex
Council gave final approval to a pair of annexation and rezoning requests.
The applicant, Gray Engineering, plans to combine more than 3.4 acres on Freeman Farm Road and 1.76 acres on Old Jones Road with adjacent parcels to develop an apartment complex consisting of 280 to 290 units.
