Greenvillians working downtown or planning trips into the downtown area on March 6 may want to adjust their regular routes.
The city of Greenville will close a portion of Academy Street between Wardlaw and North Markley streets on March 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The one-day closure will allow Norfolk-Southern to perform maintenance and replacement of its rail crossing, said the city in an announcement.
The city will place detour signs around the closure to guide traffic.
Ahead of the temporary road closing, the city is requesting motorists to allow extra travel time and be prepared to reduce their driving speed when passing through the affected area on March 6.
