Mark your calendars – the 38th annual Bon Secours St. Francis Festival of Trees begins on Nov. 17.
Eighty-seven decorated trees will line the entryway of the Courtyard Marriott Downtown and the Hyatt Regency downtown Greenville. Each tree is sponsored by companies, schools and other organizations that raise money to benefit the health system’s programs and departments.
“This time of year is about loved ones coming together, and we’re so proud to host an event that has become a longstanding tradition for many Upstate families,” said Erik Whaley, president of the St. Francis Foundation.
This year’s event will fund a new surgical oncology procedure suite at the Bon Secours St. Francis Cancer Center. The suite provides a dedicated space for surgical oncologists to perform consultations, office visits and minor in-office procedures.
Andrew Honeychuck, administrative director of Bon Secours Oncology, explained the event’s contributions will make a tangible difference in the lives of those battling cancer.
“The Bon Secours St. Francis Cancer Program is deeply grateful for the support from the Festival of Trees, which reflects our health system’s dedication to improving the well-being of our community, especially those community members battling cancer,” Honeychuck said.
The Festival of Trees is free and will run through Dec. 25.
