For the fourth year in a row, the University of South Carolina is freezing tuition systemwide for the 2022-’23 academic year, the school announced Nov. 19.
“The pandemic has led to prolonged budget uncertainty for many South Carolina families,” said interim President Harris Pastides. “I hope that we can give some comfort to both current and future students that we recognize these challenges and that our institution is committed to offering affordable degree programs.”
The freeze means undergraduate tuition at the Columbia campus will stay at $6,344/semester for South Carolina residents and just under $17,000/semester for non-South Carolina residents.
In all, a year of undergraduate study at UofSC runs in the $27,000-range, according to a University-provided cost estimate.
