The Alzheimer’s Association will hold its 13th annual “A Ride to Remember” cycling event July 9-11 to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research, care and support.
As of May 24, 375 cyclists are already registered for the 252-mile ride from Simpsonville to Charleston, with stops in Newberry and Orangeburg.
A virtual challenge is available for those who would rather log 252 miles in the saddle on their own. The virtual challenge runs from July 1 to July 31.
“We are excited to move forward with A Ride to Remember, providing options for riders to join us in-person or to participate wherever they are,” said Alzheimer’s Association South Carolina Chapter executive director Cindy Alewine. “We continue to monitor state and local public health guidelines as we plan, and we are committed to prioritizing rider health and safety throughout this event.”
Register for A Ride to Remember at aridetoremember.org. The fee for the three-day group ride is $100 per person as well as a $750 fundraising minimum per rider.
Virtual challenge participants will not have to pay a fee or meet a minimum fundraising goal to participate.
A Ride to Remember 2021 has already raised over half of its $600,000 goal.
