Here’s a recap of Greenville Board of Zoning Appeals meeting on Jan. 11:
Approved: Use by special exception for bank on Woodruff Road
The board granted a use by special exception for a bank with drive-thru planned for 439 Woodruff Road in a project on the last undeveloped parcel in the Halton Green development.
The 1.6-acre property is zoned MX-2, mixed use, and the application was one of the first coming before the board under the city’s updated development code. A bank is a permitted use under the code but a special exception is required for a drive-thru.
The project is being developed by TMC Development LLC, and the firm’s Michael Roth told the board a drive-thru is essential to the bank’s operations.
The project will have two points of access from Woodruff Road and one from Halton Road. Two people spoke against the application and raised concerns about the project’s impact on traffic.
The board granted the use by special exception, 5-1.
