Greenville-based fuel and convenience retail company The Spinx Company raised $71,000 from its socially distanced golf outing in November 2020 at the Greenville Country Club.
Due to COVID-19, the company opted to do a smaller event in place of its annual charity golf classic.
“It was imperative that we still find a way to give to the organizations across the Upstate that need our support, especially during these challenging times,” said Stewart Spinks, chairman and founder of The Spinx Company. “Although this year we were unable to host our typical celebrated charity golf classic, I am proud of our vendors and those that were able to still contribute, and I look forward to hosting another successful event in 2021.”
The funds were donated to:
- American Red Cross
- Safe Harbor
- Loaves and Fishes
- Pendleton Place
- Children’s Museum of the Upstate
This year’s beneficiaries were chosen based on their alignment with the company’s corporate charitable mission, “Spinx & Kids: Mind, Body, Spirit. Growing healthy kids where we live, work and play.”
