Unity Park is scheduled to open in 2022
The Commons is in the center of what will one day become Greenville’s 60-acre Unity Park.
Greenville City Council has given initial approval to a $38.2 million construction budget for the 60-acre Unity Park.
“Growing up in this area, we were all family. Neighbors looked out for one another. Children knew they had to be respectful, and we had to go to church and schools,” Mary Duckett said.
An additional $4 million in promised cash and other contributions have also been raised.
The park will provide school children and other park visitors the opportunity to learn about the native species and wildlife living in this unique and critical ecosystem.
