The Greenville Triumph Soccer Club will make its debut on national television when ESPN2 airs its match with Union Omaha on May 16.
This telecast is also the USL League One’s first match on national television.
“This match is a tremendous opportunity for our club and for the region,” said Triumph chief brand officer Doug Erwin. “The announcement speaks volumes to the growth of the United Soccer League, but also to the growth of the club and sport in Greenville and across the Upstate. We’re excited to represent League One and hope to put on a great show for a national audience.”
Greenville and Omaha were previously set to face off for the 2020 USL League One Title in late October before the match was canceled due to COVID-19 issues in the Omaha organization. Greenville was awarded the 2020 title after finishing the regular season with the most points and leading the standing the entire 2020 season.
The Triumph will play their first 2021 League One season game on the road against the Richmond Kickers on April 24 and their first home game on May 1 at 7 p.m. against the North Texas Soccer Club.
