Greenville Triumph Soccer Club and the United Way of Greenville County have partnered to present the virtual Match to Triumph across the club’s social media platforms until June 12.
During the three-week fundraising campaign to benefit the United Way’s COVID-19 Community Relief Fund, the Triumph is seeking to sell out its home stadium through 4,014 donations.
“This is truly the most important match we’ll ever play,” said Triumph chairman Joe Erwin. “As the virus continues to hurt so many in our community, we can retreat and complain about our delayed season, or we can help by attacking the problem head-on. We choose to attack. We are excited to partner with the United Way of Greenville County to raise money for their COVID Relief Fund that is helping so many people in the Upstate. This virtual match will challenge our players, our staff and the whole community to participate in an engaging way while helping those in need at the same time.”
Fans who purchase a $10 virtual match ticket will be included on the team’s virtual donor wall and receive a commemorative match ticket. For every 1,000 tickets purchased, the Triumph will score a goal, and five random virtual ticket holders will receive a free gift such as merchandise or autographed items.
In addition, fans and companies may also make saves or score goals as the club hits various donation milestones. For example, the 1,000th fan becomes a goal scorer or companies can randomly be chosen to make a save.
Virtual match donors who purchase group tickets have a chance to receive a private Zoom dinner with Greenville Triumph players.
