Community leaders joined representatives of Greenville Pro Soccer LLC to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new multipurpose stadium at BridgeWay Station in Mauldin March 12.
While designs for the project have not been finalized, the overall cost is expected to be between $80 million and $100 million. Developers expect about $45 million of the total to come from private sources, while the state of South Carolina has committed $10 million and the city of Mauldin has approved issuing a hospitality and accommodations tax revenue bond for up to $4.25 million to support construction.
Greenville Pro Soccer is the parent company of Greenville Triumph SC and Greenville Liberty. The new stadium will serve as home for both teams.
“This stadium will be more than just a home for the Greenville Triumph and Liberty. It will be a place where champions are crowned, families gather, and communities unite,” said Joe Erwin, chairman and owner of Greenville Triumph SC and Greenville Liberty. “It will be a hub for our youth athletes, concertgoers, and community celebrations — a place where memories will be made for generations to come.”
Set to open for play in 2026, the stadium is a collaborative effort between Greenville Pro Soccer, the state of South Carolina, the city of Mauldin, and BridgeWay Station developer Hughes Investments.

Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldinho, a member of the Greenville Pro Soccer ownership group, attended the groundbreaking.
“This stadium will be a place of dreams, where young boys and girls can come to watch their heroes and compete on the field,” Ronaldinho said. “I am proud to be part of this project, and I promise to support this club and the community, helping to make those dreams a reality.”
