June Alice Conner Broad, wife of the city of Mauldin’s director of community development Van Broad, died Aug. 4, according to an obituary from Fletcher Funeral Home. She was 60.

Broad was also a member of Mauldin United Methodist Church and served in youth ministry with her husband of 38 years, Van.
“Van and June came to our church a few years ago,” said Mauldin United Methodist senior pastor Webb Belangia. “He was our choir director and she did what needed to be done. She was a wonderful wife and person to be around. She was a great Christian lady.”
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Matt Broad and wife Cortney; a daughter, Walker Areiza and husband Daniel; and a brother, Eddie Conner.
