The community gathered to remember Greenville native Peabo Bryson July 10 with a wreath laying on Academy Street near Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Academy Street is honorarily named Robert Peabo Bryson Boulevard. Bryson, a two-time Grammy award winner, died June 2 after suffering a stroke at age 75. Bryson sung a duet for “Beauty and the Beast” with Celine Dion and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle. Both tracks won Academy Awards for Best Original Song.
