A Wade Hampton High School employee was assaulted in a parking lot behind the school Tuesday at about 5:15 p.m., according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
A statement from the sheriff’s office said the employee was assaulted by an unknown male while walking to their vehicle. The suspect did not have any weapons and left on foot.
“Deputies do not have any reason to believe there is any danger to the students or any other staff members,” the statement said. “We do ask that if anyone has any information concerning this incident to call CrimeStoppers at 23-CRIME.”
A statement from Greenville County Schools said all Wade Hampton High parents have been notified and additional district personnel will be on campus Wednesday as a precaution.
