Reopened: Vehicle on pedestrian bridge at Lake Conestee Nature Preserve prompts closure

Update from Lake Conestee Nature Preserve: The bridge was assessed and found secure. It is reopened, though the ramp to the the area we call “Sparkleberry Island” will remain closed. Please be careful around temporary railing.

Lake Conestee Nature Preserve announced on its Facebook page Feb. 8 an accident has closed its Reedy River Bridge, which serves as the main route for walkers to get around the park.

The bridge will remain closed until further notice.

The nature preserve is recommending the public use the map found at conesteepreserve.org before visiting.
