Tired of the same Valentine’s Day routine of going out to dinner accompanied by chocolates and flowers? Here are some unique, socially distanced, but creative ways to celebrate the holiday.
For the sporty or competitive couple:

Couples who enjoy spending time or participating in or watching competitive activities may want to consider craft axe throwing.
During this game, participants throw axes at a giant dartboard-like target to earn points, with each ring closer to the bullseye granting the competitor higher points.
At Hampton Station, Craft Axe Throwing-Greenville offers 16 throwing lanes, a full bar and HDTVs.
Hockey lovers can bond over Greenville Swamp Rabbits matches on Feb. 13 and 14 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

For art lovers:

Art is abundant in Greenville, and while couples may enjoy visiting art exhibits around the area such as at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts, what about taking a class to learn to paint a portrait together or craft pottery?
At Wine & Design on Woods Crossing Road in Greenville, couples can purchase tickets for a date night option on Feb. 13 and 14. Attendees are given canvas to paint on. Some date classes will present a picture where one person paints one part of the picture on their canvas while their partner paints the other side.
Couples may also enjoy taking a pottery class. Hearts of Clay on Spartan Boulevard in Spartanburg, will offer basic beginner pottery classes for couples to attend together.

For Foodies:

Upstate foodie couples may want to consider taking a cooking class or attending a food-and-alcohol pairing.
For those who enjoy cooking and might want to learn new skills, consider a course from Greenville Technical College’s Truist Culinary & Hospitality Innovation Center on Perry Ave. in Greenville. While the cooking class for Valentine’s Day is currently sold out, the school will be offering courses in March. The Cook’s Station on Buncombe Street has several Valentine’s Day-themed classes to choose from.
In addition to learning to cook, couples may want to learn about how different types of alcohol pairs with food. Just in time for Valentine’s Day weekend, Carolina Bauernhaus Greenville on Perry Ave. will be offering a chocolate-and-beer pairing event Feb. 13. The brewery will be offering both in-house and to-go options with chocolates from La Rue Fine Chocolates paired with an IPA, mead, sour and stout.
