When Donald Trump speaks, people come.
The freezing rain didn’t stop thousands from filling the TD Convention Center to listen to the Republican frontrunner two days after the Greenville debate.
Some attendees like Karen Bohrn of Simpsonville have been Trump supporters since he announced his campaign.
Bohrn said that even though some of her friends though she was crazy for supporting the controversial real estate mogul, she said she “never wavered in her support.”
She brought out her friend Terri Symons of Greenville, who said she was still undecided about her vote but was leaning toward Trump.
David Summer from Anderson said Trump wasn’t “bought and paid for” by lobbyists like other politicians.
He liked that Trump had business experience and knew how to delegate.
While the convention center was packed with hardcore supporters, others attended the rally out of curiosity.
Furman student Noah Mitchell came out to “see what all the buzz is about, really.”
Mitchell and two of his friends who came out with him are first-time voters this election and plan on supporting Rubio.
But Mitchell said Trump has hit a nerve with people.

“Trump really pointed out some flaws in our society, but Rubio will lead us to the next generation,” he said.
During his almost hourlong speech, Trump attacked his opponents by calling former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush weak, saying Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is a liar and making fun of Marco Rubio for sweating.
Trump highlighted his bona fides as a businessman and warned of losing jobs to China and Mexico.
He said China was actively trying to get Boeing, one of the largest employers in South Carolina, to send jobs there.
“Here’s what’s going to happen to Boeing—because I really like Boeing and I know you worked really hard to get Boeing,” he said. “ But China now is insisting that in order to get the big order, that Boeing build a massive plant in China.”
Trump talked about being a strong military and advocated for waterboarding.
“I don’t think waterboarding’s tough enough. I think we need to be much tougher,” Trump said.
He called the Iraq invasion a mistake because it destabilized the region. He said the removal of Saddam Hussein from Iraq didn’t help because the dictator helped keep Iran under control and he killed terrorists.
“He found a terrorist and they were gone within five seconds,” he said. “With us, we find a terrorist and it’s going to be 25 years for the trial. And by the way, by the way, South Carolina, we are not moving any people from Gitmo to South Carolina.”
Trump also hit his some of his signature positions like banning Muslim immigrants and building a wall on the Mexican border.
He made a promise if he gets elected: “We’re going to be respected again.”
