The Junior League of Greenville celebrates International Find the Good Day each year on the third Thursday of September.
International Find the Good Day encourages individuals, families and organizations to give back to the community through acts of kindness, volunteerism and community service.
Elizabeth DuBose, president of the Junior League of Greenville, said Find the Good Day reminds people what’s possible when they choose to lead with kindness and show up for their community.
In celebration of this day, Greenville City Councilmember Dorothy Dowe presented the Junior League of Greenville with a signed proclamation declaring Sept. 17, 2026, as “Find the Good Day” in the city.
The Junior League of Greenville also marked the occasion by honoring five women whose leadership and service reflect the organization’s impact pillars:
- Advancing Education and Culture: Debra Bentrem, physical education teacher at Plain Elementary in Simpsonville.
- Overcoming Poverty and Financial Instability: Lizzie Bebber, president of United Ministries
- Improving Health and Wellness: Kacey Eichelberger, department chair for obstetrics and gynecology at Prisma Health and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville
- Mitigating Crisis and Promoting Safety: Tiffney Davidson-Parker, executive director of NAMI Greenville
- Unsung Hero: Greenville City Manager Shannon Lavrin
“These five women reflect the best of what our community has to offer, and we’re honored to shine a light on their good work,” DuBose said.
