Deb Richardson-Moore, local author and former Triune Mercy Center executive director and pastor, will receive the inaugural United Housing Connections’ 2020 Humanitarian Award on Nov. 19 during a free virtual event from 6-7:30 p.m.
The award, presented by the SEARCHlight Initiative, honors those dedicated to ending homelessness. The event will highlight some of Richardson-Moore’s projects, including her work to ensure the UHC project Church Street Place at Poe Mill is built. This development will provide 36 units of housing for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness and suffering with a disability.
“The selection of Deb for this honor was an easy decision,” said UHC CEO Lorain Crowl. “For 15 years, Deb has been an incredible leader, mentor and friend to our citizens experiencing homelessness in Greenville. She has shown us all, by example, what the word ‘serve’ really means.”
The event speakers include Greenville Mayor Knox White, Jim Carroll of the SEARCHlight Initiative and Crowl.
