Healthgrades, a resource connecting consumers, physicians and health systems, recently named Bon Secours St. Francis Health System’s St. Francis Downtown and St. Francis Eastside hospitals to its America’s 50 Best Hospitals Awards for 2020.
Both hospitals were the only ones from South Carolina named to the top 50 and the only Upstate locations in the top 250.
“This recognition is proof that Bon Secours is living up to its mission of extending the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities, and bringing good help to those in need,” said president of Bon Secours’ Greenville market Matt Caldwell. “It’s an honor for me to serve alongside all of our Greenville associates, the people who go above and beyond on a daily basis to ensure the best care possible in every respect. That commitment results in the outstanding care that can truly change the lives of our patients.”
Healthgrades America’s Best Hospital Awards were given after analyzing how nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide handle 32 conditions and procedures, including heart attack, stroke, sepsis, pneumonia and more. Overall, patients of the hospitals honored have, on average, a 26.6 percent lower risk of death than if they were treated at hospital not on the list.
