The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control has partnered with Greenville Technical College to provide expanded access to the COVID-19 vaccine at the Buck Mickel Center at 216 S. Pleasantburg Drive in Greenville.
The building, which used to house GTC’s continuing education classes, has sat vacant since the college restructured its academic divisions. The college plans to sell the facility.
“Though the Buck Mickel Center has only been vacant for a short time, we have been pleased to share it with the United Way for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and now with DHEC so that they can expand vaccine access in our community,” said GTC President Keith Miller. “COVID has affected the entire community, and it’s important for us to come together in any way we can to fight it.”
As part of DHEC’s phased approach with vaccination clinics, vaccines are expected to be available at the Buck Mickel Center in late February.
