The votes are in for Greenville County Council District 21 and South Carolina House District 35, with 100% of the precincts reporting as of Wednesday, June 24, afternoon.
Chris Harrison edged out Stacy Kuper for the Greenville County Council District 21 Republican nomination with 1,457 votes, or 62% of ballots cast. Kuper received 905 votes, or 38% of the vote.
In addition, Bill Chumley defeated Chris Bennett for the House District 35 Republican nomination with 1,440 votes, or 53% of the vote. Bennett received 47% of ballots cast, or 1,255 votes.
Voter turnout for the Greenville County Council District 21 runoff election on June 23 was 7.7%, while the Greenville County side of House District 33 was 5% of registered voters, said Conway Belangia, director of the Greenville County Election Commission.
Harrison will not face Democratic opposition in the general election, but Chumley will face Democrat Helen Pendarvis in November.
