After shutting down service in March due to COVID-19, Greenlink will resume its trolley service schedule on June 4 with a redesigned trolley network to include the North Main and South Main year-round routes, and the Attractions and West End seasonal routes.
The changes in trolley routes come after a series of fall 2019 public meetings, where participants requested Greenlink connect popular destinations such as Heritage Green and the Greenville Zoo with additional parking options, more frequent service and consistent service by attempting to structure trolley routes around common road closures.
Since the new routes are shorter, the wait time for the customers should be reduced, said Greenlink Public Transit director James Keel.
“We’re installing new trolley stop signs, which display unique stop numbers assigned to each location,” Keel said. “Customers will be able to use the stop IDs to see real-time arrival predictions on the FindGreenlink app or use the call or text features to see the exact time the trolley will arrive at their stop.”
The new routes will run on:
- North Main Route and South Main Route will operate 6-11 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturdays and 1-8 p.m. Sundays
- Attractions Route, which connects the Greenville Zoo to Heritage Green, will operate April through September 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturdays and 1-8 p.m. Sundays
- West End Route, which connects South Main St. to the Village of West Greenville, will operate April through September 6-11 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 5:30-11 p.m. Saturdays
All trolley routes will originate from the Greenlink Transit Center. For more information, visit ridegreenlink.com/trolley.
