Let There Be Mom, a local nonprofit organization working to preserve the legacies of local parents who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses, announced its 14th annual Dine Out for Mom fundraiser will be held on Oct. 22 at 88 Upstate restaurants.
During this day, the participating locations will donate 20% of their total sales, including dine-in, carry-out, catering and gift card sales, to Let There Be Mom.
“Dine Out for Mom has always been instrumental in raising the funds we need to serve local families,” said Kipra Anderson, Let There Be Mom’s founder and executive director. “This year, however, we are asking everyone who can to embrace the day with more enthusiasm than you ever have. There are 88 local restaurants who, despite the negative economic impact that the pandemic has had on their businesses, are stepping out in faith and continuing to find a way to support others. We all need to let that sink in and then show our appreciation to these restaurants by showering them with business and patience on Oct. 22.”
Joining the event this year is the Dine Out for Mom Raffle. The grand prize winner will receive a gift card, valued at a meal for two people, from each of the participating restaurants. Tickets are available for $5 per ticket and are available through the Let There Be Mom website until Nov. 2. The drawing will take place on Nov. 4.
The nonprofit has raised more than $700,000 over the past 13 years through its Dine Out for Mom day. These funds were used to create tangible keepsakes for children.
