Communities in Schools of Greenville, a local affiliate of a national nonprofit which works to build relationships with schools as well as provide assistance to families and students living below the poverty line, will hold its Annual Charity Golf Outing on Oct. 19 at noon at Holly Tree Country Club at 500 Golf Club Drive in Simpsonville.
“During a year that’s been extraordinarily disrupted by a global pandemic, proceeding with this annual event was less about tradition and more out of necessity,” said Communities in Schools of Greenville President and CEO Susi Smith. “The ripple effects of COVID-19 have disproportionately impacted low-income children and families. The funds raised through this year’s charity golf event will help to provide food, school supplies, case management services, financial assistance and online learning technology for families and their children living below the poverty line, through Communities In Schools’ engagement within the Greenville County school system.”
Joining the golf tournament this year is a raffle featuring prizes such as $3,500 worth of retirement financial planning by Waingart Wealth Advisors, a gift basket from The Shops at Greenridge and a set of four Michelin or BF Goodrich tires from Michelin North America. Raffle tickets are $20 for 10 and may be purchased until 4 p.m. on Oct. 19. The winners will be announced at 5 p.m. the same day.
