The Augusta Road Business Association will host its annual Holiday Open House on Nov. 15 from 1-5 p.m.
The event usually takes place the Sunday before Thanksgiving, but following 2019’s holiday shopping day, ARBA members voted to move it up a week since many people begin traveling the weekend before Thanksgiving.
“After the many hurdles COVID-19 has provided, we feel this annual event is sure to be a needed boost to the spirits for all,” ARBA president and Paisley & Paper owner Marty Garrison said. “Although things will look a little different this year with social distancing and masks worn by all, we felt it important to hold on to this tradition for our customers as well as our small businesses. We are working hard to continue to provide the same quality services we are known for while working to keep our customers and employees healthy and safe.”
This year’s Holiday Open House will feature raffles, prizes and special sales for the event at the different participating shops. In addition, children of all ages will have to opportunities to see Santa. Attendees can visit a socially distanced Santa at The Elephant’s Truck or see Kenny Rhodes, ARBA member and owner of Kenneth Rhodes & Associates, as Santa as he moves from one location to another in his special car.
ARBA is also bringing back its annual Instagram contest. Attendees are encouraged to take photos or selfies while at Holiday Open House, post them on Instagram, and tag @onlyonaugusta and the hashtag #hohonaugusta2020 to win gift certificates to businesses along Augusta Street.
