Four decades of fine furnishings
Forty-four years ago, two great things happened in the Dickens family. Linda opened a Simpsonville furniture store, and she had a son, Will, who would eventually become a partner in Carolina Furniture & Interiors.
Demand for their traditional, high-end furniture and inspired accessories led to expansion and, later, a sister store featuring more casual pieces. In 2008, to the delight of loyal customers, the two combined in Greenville, forming an incredible 25,000 square-foot showroom on Mall Connector Road.
In addition to an unparalleled work ethic, Linda has always had a keen eye for design, which translates to hand-selected pieces from top manufacturers in the marketplace. The goal is for customers to find creative ways to make their homes unique and livable. “We want people to see and feel what it’s like to live in that space,” Will said. Will also noted that his team of interior designers is available for all of your home design needs.
Will now handles everyday operations. Away from the store, he enjoys spending time with his children, Witt, Hayes, and Leighton. His favorite “fishing hole” beckons, but he and his wife Leigh are busy furnishing their downtown home with a distinctive mix of classic and modern style.
He says the secret to their success is simple: “Hard work, customer service and a love of the industry.”
