No cuts, no color: just wash, blo and go!
Shelly Raynes and her team can’t wait to blo you away.
Like many business success stories, Shelly Raynes’ tale began with a personal need. “I was growing out a haircut, and I wanted a blow-dry bar, and we didn’t have one,” she says. She had also been considering opening a business, and the timing seemed perfect for taking the leap. Last October, she opened her Blo Blow Dry Bar at The Point, near Whole Foods on Woodruff Road.
The response has been beyond what she imagined. “It’s great for the busy woman,” she says. “You can come for a blow-out on Monday and your hair looks great for three or four days. And, you’re not cheating on your hairdresser!”
Seven signature styles make it easy to walk out with the look you want, and each staff member is highly skilled and trained by a corporate educator, so you don’t have to wait for a specific stylist. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins can often be accommodated. Blo can host events and gatherings that are fun and festive, complete with Champagne.
The idea is offering an affordable luxury that is also a timesaving service. It offers the downtime and pampering many people love about a pedicure, but with even more noticeable results. “You could have on a couture outfit, but if your hair doesn’t look good, you don’t look good,” she says. “Good hair is the key, the ultimate accessory.”
