AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Anderson celebrated the opening of a new unit of patient rooms on Sept. 24.
The more than 11,000-square-foot addition increases the hospital’s total bed count from 60 to 76, expanding access to inpatient rehabilitation care for the growing community. The new unit also includes two day rooms for family visits and a nurses’ station.
AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital provides rehabilitation therapy for patients who have experienced a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic surgery or complex neurological conditions. The hospital serves patients from Oconee, Pickens and Anderson counties.
“These patients need the advanced level of care we provide to have a greater opportunity to recover stronger,” said Heath Watson, CEO of AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital. “This expansion means more patients will learn to walk, talk or care for themselves again after receiving the intensive therapy they deserve.”
AnMed Health Rehabilitation Hospital, which opened in 2003, is a joint venture between AnMed Health and Encompass Health. The hospital is located at 1 Springback Way in Anderson. For more information, visit anmed.org/locations/anmed-rehabilitation-hospital.
