Greenville County Schools will be accepting nominations for the GCS Hall of Fame until Saturday, May 1. The nominations are for GCS graduates and GCS educators.
The Hall of Fame Graduate category remembers and honors GCS students who have graduated and who have made positive contributions at the local, regional, national or international levels in areas including academia and education, arts, athletics, business, media, public service, philanthropy, medicine, military or science.
For the Hall of Fame GCS Educator category, honorees include women and men who have been employed by the school district for at least 10 years and have positively contributed to K12 public education.
“Nominators must demonstrate that the nominee exemplifies honesty, integrity, trustworthiness and other evidence of good character,” according to an email from GCS spokesperson Tim Waller.
If a nominee qualifies for both categories, then the GCS Hall of Fame Selection Committee will make the final decision about which the category the nominee belongs to.
