The Greenville County Schools school choice lottery window will be available from Monday, Nov. 16, until Wednesday, Dec. 2., according to the district. Parents can submit a form indicating up to three schools for their children to attend.
Parents and guardians who are interested in applying to a school choice slot at a school other than the one based on their residence should pick up a form called the Greenville County Schools’ Change in Assignment (CIA) that is available at GCS schools — but not at magnet schools.
The forms must be filled out and submitted at the school marked as the No. 1 choice. The order of submission of the forms does not factor into the final lottery assignment.
Parents of kindergarten students wanting to apply to the school choice lottery should do so during the lottery window and not wait until kindergarten registration.
The lottery will be completed and results posted on the GCS website on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021. Results will be listed by the CIA number listed on the submitted form. The listing will be on the ranking in the lottery only, not on the school selection, which will be decided at a later date.
