Employees of Greenville County Schools who received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at the school district vaccine clinics will have the opportunity to receive their second doses on Friday, April 16, according to an announcement by the district. That day will be an e-learning day for students.
The district’s spokesperson, Tim Waller, said in an email that the day depends on the school district’s ability to have received enough vaccine doses. Employees will go again to the two previous vaccine clinic locations — Greer High School and Woodmont High School.
GCS employees who had signed up with the district to get the vaccine but could not get the first jab last week at the clinics will be vaccinated this week on Wednesday, March 24, and Thursday, March 25, at a Bon Secours location.
“This will allow us to provide the second dose of vaccine on April 16 to all GCS employees who are participating in our clinics, both those who were vaccinated last Thursday and those who will be vaccinated this week,” Waller said.
Teachers will assign work for the day they are off to get their second doses.
